Bariatric Weight Loss Health Clinic Sued for 3 Premature Deaths

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

In a local weight loss health clinic centre in New York, 3 people suddenly died following their bariatric weight loss surgery. The incident took place on 7th June, 2010 and the cause for this mysterious death is unknown. The FBI is investigating over the matter after when the relatives of the dead patients lodged a complaint against the health clinic. Meanwhile the clinic where the weight loss surgery took place is sued and the doctors who performed the operation are under vigilance. They are not allowed to practice until the case until the final hearing of the case comes in.

According to the reports of New York Post, the doctors who are held guilty for this heinous crime are couple Dr. George Fielding and Christine Ren-Fielding who have been practicing in the New York University Medical Centre for the past 10 years or so. Out of the 3 patients, one of them died due to dehydration. 27 years old Rebecca Quatinetz who opted for this surgery two months ago was found dead in her apartment. She was a lawyer and was deliberate enough to get rid of her obesity at the earliest. After the surgery, she was having difficulty in chewing and digesting her food and this could well be the main reason behind her death.

For 25 years old Danielle Delango, she got operated and within 6 weeks of her treatment left for heavenly abode. She visited several health clinics in the past who told her that she need not go for any weight loss surgery and if pursued could be fatal for her. But the couples at New York University Medical Centre thought otherwise and compelled her to get the bariatric surgery done in spite of her will. It is interesting to note that at the time of her death, she weighed only 71 kilos and if she hadn’t opted for the surgery, she would have been alive now.

Both Dr. George Fielding and his wife Christine Ren-Fielding are infamous for performing illegal surgery against the wish of the patients. Even of the patient does not qualify for the surgery; they get it done on them without caring about the complications that might take place post surgery. At present both of them are put behind the bars and it is likely that they would be disbarred from their doctorate degree and would not be allowed to practice medicine in the future.
